Project Background

The customer is a powder coating manufacturer located in Turkey. During the production process, the customer needed a reliable powder coating sieving machine to remove impurities and agglomerated particles that may occur during powder production and handling.

Powder Coating Sieving Machine

The material density was 1.4–1.6 g/cm³, which is within the normal range for powder coating materials. The customer required precise 100 mesh powder screening and a continuous production capacity of no less than 280 kg/h.

Before this project, the customer used a conventional vibrating screen. However, serious screen blockage problems occurred during operation, especially when using fine 100 mesh screens. The equipment needed to be stopped several times per shift for manual cleaning, which directly affected the production schedule.

The customer had two strict requirements:

  • The screening accuracy must reach 100 mesh.
  • The machine must maintain a continuous production capacity of at least 280 kg/h.

Jiarui’s Powder Coating Sieving Machine Solution

After technical communication with the customer’s engineers, Дзяжуй. confirmed the material characteristics:

  • Moderate powder flowability.
  • Irregular particle shape.
  • A small amount of agglomeration caused by static electricity.

When conventional vibrating screens process this type of material, fine powder can easily enter and block the mesh openings. Simply increasing vibration intensity cannot completely solve the problem, as excessive vibration may cause material jumping and reduce screening efficiency.

Based on the material characteristics and production requirements, Jiarui recommended the JRC1200-1S ultrasonic vibrating screen.

Why JRC1200-1S Ultrasonic Vibrating Screen Was Recommended

The key challenge of this project was the tendency of the material to block the screen mesh.

During the screening process of electrostatic powder coating, powder particles generate static electricity through friction. Fine particles can attach to the screen surface, especially when using fine mesh screens such as 100 mesh. Under these conditions, conventional vibrating screens often struggle to maintain stable throughput.

During the equipment selection process, Jiarui considered three main factors.

1. Suitable Screening Area

The JRC1200-1S uses a 1200 mm diameter single-layer screen with an effective screening area of approximately 1.13 m².

Based on the required capacity of 280 kg/h, the processing load is approximately 248 kg/m²·h. This load is suitable for an ultrasonic screening system and provides sufficient operating margin.

2. Ultrasonic Cleaning Performance

The JRC1200-1S is equipped with an ultrasonic transducer installed below the screen mesh. The high-frequency vibration directly acts on the screen surface, helping to break the static adhesion and mechanical embedding between powder particles and the mesh.

Based on Jiarui’s previous experience with powder coating applications, ultrasonic assistance can significantly extend the cleaning interval compared with conventional screening methods, reducing frequent shutdowns caused by mesh blockage.

This design helps prevent mesh blinding during fine powder screening.

3. SUS304 Stainless Steel Contact Parts

All material contact parts of the equipment are manufactured from SUS304 stainless steel.

This prevents possible contamination between the powder coating material and equipment surfaces while making cleaning and color change operations easier.

In powder coating production, frequent color changes are common. The smooth surface and corrosion resistance of SUS304 were important requirements from the customer.

Project Results

The equipment was delivered to the Turkish customer in June 2026. Installation and commissioning were completed through remote guidance from Jiarui engineers together with the customer’s local technical team.

On the commissioning day, the JRC1200-1S achieved the required capacity of 280 kg/h, and the screened material remained stable at the required 100 mesh size.

After one week of continuous operation, the customer reported that no screen blockage occurred, the production capacity remained stable, and the cleaning time during color changes was reduced by approximately 30%.

The improvement was mainly due to the smooth surface of the SUS304 stainless steel contact parts, which reduced powder residue after production.

The customer also mentioned an important production improvement. Before using the JRC1200-1S, frequent shutdowns for screen cleaning caused the downstream packaging process to wait for material supply.

After replacing the equipment, the screening process was no longer a production bottleneck, and the actual production output of the entire line increased by approximately 15%. This data was recorded by the customer based on their own production statistics.

Заключение

Based on the actual operation results of this project, the JRC1200-1S successfully met the customer’s continuous 100 mesh powder coating screening requirements.

The key challenge in this application was not simply increasing vibration strength, but solving the problem of fine mesh blockage.

The JRC1200-1S uses ultrasonic high-frequency vibration to reduce the adhesion between powder particles and the screen mesh, maintaining stable screening accuracy and production capacity.

For industries handling similar materials, such as powder coating, chemical powders, and food additives, this configuration can be considered when facing fine mesh blockage or insufficient production capacity.

During equipment selection, it is recommended to evaluate the screen area and motor power based on material density, mesh size, and required capacity instead of simply selecting oversized or undersized equipment.

The JRC1200-1S can also be used as an electrostatic powder coating sifter solution for applications requiring stable fine powder separation.
